Tyler Woods Background

Tyler Woods Ph.D. has worked in crisis intervention and suicide prevention since the early 90’s. She did an internship with Survivors of Suicide in Tucson Arizona and when the program was being cut due to funding, Tyler turned it into a nonprofit and has been working with survivors and remains active in the community with suicide prevention and postvention.

Woods earned her BA in Holistic Psychology and her Master's in Counseling Psychology. She then went on and earned a Doctor in Philosophy in Holistic Health, focusing on healing through alternatives that aid in emotional and healthy well being. She was a clinician for many years and retired as a in April of 2004 so she could focus on healing mental health issues through a holistic lens.

Dr. Woods knew that in order for people to heal completely people had to nourish the soul, inspire the mind and fill the heart. She was aware after working in mainstream psychology that the focus was just on the mind and not the body and spirit. She understood that as human beings, we are multi-dimensional, interlinked and inseparable and mental health should be treated as such.

Tyler helps her clients by cultivating natural alternatives to healing. She believes that the natural approach to mental health issues gives people more of a say in their overall well-being. She has taken this approach and has helped countless people achieved balance or chaos. In fact, her style is so unique Woods has phone sessions so she can reach out to people not only in this country but in countries all over the world.

Tyler Woods Ph.D. is a private practitioner in holistic mental health, a life coach, teaches psychology courses at her local college, a keynote speaker, an author and as some people call her, a spiritual entrepreneur.
